In Dushanbe, Tajikistan's Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Daler Juma, met with Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan, Keiko Furuta. During the talks, the two sides discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector, including developing renewable energy projects and improving water resource efficiency.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, the meeting focused on the implementation of joint infrastructure projects, the development of green energy, and strengthening the technical potential of Tajik specialists.
Minister Daler Juma emphasized that Tajikistan attaches great importance to the transition to sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources, particularly the exploitation of hydropower and solar energy potential. He noted that Japan has been a reliable partner of Tajikistan in technological and financial cooperation for many years.
Japanese Ambassador Keiko Furuta, in turn, expressed the Japanese government and business community's readiness to continue participating in energy and water projects aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of Tajikistan and all of Central Asia. She noted that Japan is prepared to facilitate the implementation of modern technologies in renewable energy, energy conservation, and water resource management.
The parties also exchanged views on improving the qualifications of specialists, developing scientific and technical exchange, and attracting investment for the implementation of innovative solutions in the energy sector.
Following the talks, both sides confirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in energy, water resources, and the environment, emphasizing the importance of a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership between Tajikistan and Japan.
