Tajikistan's Minister of Finance, Fayziddin Qahhorzoda, and Roberto Longo, Country Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Tajikistan, signed a $19.7 million financing agreement for the Market Access and Livestock Adaptation Project in Dushanbe.
According to the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan, the project will be fully funded by grants from the International Fund for Agricultural Development. The project will also receive $2.3 million in funding from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The project aims to improve the well-being, income, and resilience of rural households in the country, particularly small-scale livestock farmers. It also includes increased livestock productivity, sustainable pasture management, and adaptation to climate change.
In addition, the project will facilitate the development of value chains in the livestock sector.
