On May 27, 2026, in Dushanbe, at the Fourth International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action, "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028," Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma met with Tetsuya Kokubo, Director of the Center for Hydraulic Engineering of the Japanese company Kansai Electric Power Group. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of developing cooperation in the fields of hydropower, water resources management, and the implementation of modern hydrological forecasting technologies.
The discussion focused on the process of developing a system for forecasting water inflow into the Vakhsh River reservoir.
The parties emphasized that the implementation of this system could make an important contribution to increasing the efficiency of water resource management, as well as improving the operation of hydroelectric power plants in the Vakhsh River basin.
