A working meeting of the heads of the naval forces and coast guards of the border agencies of the CIS member states was held at the Russian Federal Security Service Border Service base in Volgograd, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reported.
The main topic of the meeting was the development trends of threats to the border security of Commonwealth states in the waters of external border sections.
The event was attended by representatives of the border agencies of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the Coordination Service of the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged experiences in conducting joint actions by naval units to protect the external borders of the CIS states.
The meeting, it was noted, contributed to the further development of cooperation between the border agencies of the Commonwealth countries in the area of countering threats to border security in water areas.
