On October 19, the capital's Abulkosim Firdavsi Culture and Recreation Park will host the Mehrgon festival and a festival-fair of agricultural products and equipment. The event is being held at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan, in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies, as well as regional executive authorities, in accordance with Decree No. AP-713 of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated January 2, 2025.
During the festival, visitors will enjoy a rich program:

Beekeepers' festival with an exhibition and sale of honey;

Apple and Grape Festival;

Exhibition and sale of pilaf and rice;

Watermelon, melon and pumpkin festival.
Farmers from all over the republic will present produce typical for the holiday, including rice, honey, vegetables, and fruits. Top chefs will showcase national dishes, and folk artisans will present their handicrafts.
The event will recognize activists and leading representatives of the agricultural sector. They will receive diplomas, letters of appreciation, and commemorative gifts from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan. In addition, a cultural and entertainment program will be organized for the festival participants, aimed at enhancing their spirits and engaging them.
Mehrgon is one of the oldest national holidays in Tajikistan, along with Navruz, Sada, and Tirgon. According to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan's decree of August 5, 2009, it is celebrated annually throughout the country and symbolizes gratitude for bountiful harvests and the fertility of the land.
The event aims to popularize traditional culture, strengthen national values, and support the country's agricultural sector.
