On May 20, consultations between defense department representatives from the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states were held via videoconference at the CSTO Joint Staff, focusing on improving air defense and developing the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces, the CSTO press service reported.
The consultations were chaired by the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Andrei Serdyukov.
The event was attended by authorized representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
Participants reportedly discussed current issues related to improving air defense to cover the CSTO Troops and Collective Forces during joint military operations.
In addition, the parties discussed issues of further development of the CSTO Collective Aviation Forces.
Following the consultations, the participants agreed on drafts of relevant documents that are being developed as part of the implementation of the Organization's priority areas of activity during the Russian Federation's chairmanship of the CSTO in 2026.
