A graduation ceremony was held in the capital of Tajikistan for 200 women who won projects under the Presidential Grants. This was reported by the Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event was held in a formal setting and brought together representatives of government agencies, public organizations, the business community, and grant program participants from various regions of the country.
In her speech, Bunafsha Fayziddinzoda, Chair of the Committee on Women and Family Affairs, emphasized that the development of women's entrepreneurship and handicrafts remains a key focus of state policy pursued under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon.
"Supporting women's initiatives and creating conditions for realizing their potential is an important part of the state's efforts to strengthen social stability, increase employment, and improve the population's well-being," noted Bunafsha Fayziddinzoda.
According to her, Presidential grants not only stimulate the development of small and medium-sized businesses among women, but also contribute to the preservation and revival of national crafts, the development of new manufacturing and service sectors, and the creation of additional jobs.
As noted during the ceremony, an analysis of ongoing projects shows that women are actively exploring various fields—from handicrafts and agricultural production to services and social entrepreneurship. Many projects are aimed at developing family businesses, establishing educational centers, sewing and carpet-weaving workshops, processing plants, and other initiatives that are in demand in the domestic market.
According to the Committee for Women and Family Affairs, in 2025, by decision of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the number of Presidential Grants was increased to 200, with a total value of 15 million somoni . By comparison, in 2024, 120 grants were allocated for a total of 5 million somoni, representing a threefold increase in program funding .
This dynamic, the head of the Committee emphasized, demonstrates the state's priority attention to issues of expanding women's economic opportunities, stimulating their labor and entrepreneurial activity, and strengthening the social role of women in society.
Presidential grants are awarded to women who have demonstrated initiative in manufacturing, services, education, culture, and social support. The funds are used to implement specific projects that have a significant social and economic impact.
According to the organizers, the program will continue in future years. Plans include expanding the geography of participation, streamlining the competition procedures, and enhancing the level of information and consulting support for participants.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, for his attention and support, emphasizing that the grants they received will serve as an important incentive for the further development of their initiatives and strengthening the economic potential of the country's regions.
