On May 26, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Yasser Ibrahim bin Humaydon, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as part of the 4th International High-Level Conference on the Decade of International Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028," the press service of the head of state reported.
During the meeting, issues of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Bahrain, as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest, were discussed.



Much attention was paid to ways to expand political ties and cooperation in the areas of economics and trade, investment, tourism, development of modern infrastructure, and strengthening cooperation on water and climate issues.
In light of the extremely fragile and complex situation in the Persian Gulf region, President Emomali Rahmon stated that Tajikistan supports continued political and diplomatic efforts to peacefully resolve this crisis, taking into account the interests of all countries in the region.
