On May 26, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Aliabadi, who arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028," the presidential press service reported.
During the meeting, issues of developing bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.

The parties paid special attention to expanding relations in the areas of economics, industry, energy, agriculture, road construction, and logistics.
In this context, the importance of creating joint ventures was noted, including in the areas of mining, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and the processing of cotton, wool, and leather.
Regarding the situation in the Middle East, it was noted that the problems that have arisen can only be resolved through diplomatic means and negotiations. In this regard, Tajikistan's firm position on supporting continued political efforts and constructive dialogue for the peaceful resolution of this and other conflicts was reaffirmed.
