To mark the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the SCO Secretariat is holding a competition for the best article among undergraduate and graduate students from higher education institutions in SCO member states. This was reported by the Organization's press service.
The goal of the competition is to stimulate the development of scientific research in the field of SCO studies among the younger generation.
The SCO Secretariat invites undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the competition by preparing a monograph in Chinese, Russian, or English.
The competition is held under the theme "25 Years of the SCO: Partnership for a Sustainable Future." Participants are free to narrow the focus of their article.
The competition is prepared and conducted by a competition council composed of officials from the SCO Secretariat. Its activities are based on the principles of objectivity, independence, and professional competence.
The competition council's responsibilities include reviewing the submitted works and determining the winners using the formula "one winner from each SCO member state."
The competition winners will be awarded honorary certificates from the SCO Secretary-General. The awards will be sent through diplomatic channels via the national coordinators of SCO member states or the embassies of member states accredited in the People's Republic of China.

To participate in the competition, you must fill out a questionnaire and application.
The article, formatted in accordance with the established requirements, together with the questionnaire, photograph and application, must be sent to the email address [email protected] with the subject line: “Article competition for the 25th anniversary of the SCO.”
The deadline for submission of competition articles is May 20, 2026.
The winners of the competition will be announced on SCO Day, June 15, 2026.
