The Ministries of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation signed a Roadmap for Cooperation in the Transport Sector for 2025–2030. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan.
The signing took place during Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. The document was signed by Tajikistan's Minister of Transport Azim Ibrahim and Russia's Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin.
The roadmap defines priority areas for developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport, provides for an increase in the volume of freight transport by rail and road, and creates conditions for experimental multimodal freight transport between Tajikistan and Russia.
As noted in the document, key attention is paid to issues of increasing the efficiency of transport and logistics interactions , improving infrastructure, and introducing digital technologies and innovative solutions in the management of transport flows.
"Implementing the Roadmap's provisions will elevate bilateral cooperation in the transport sector to a qualitatively new level, strengthen the interconnectivity of transport systems, increase the sustainability of supplies, and promote the development of economic ties between our countries," said Tajikistan's Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrohim.
According to the agreements reached, the parties intend to expand cooperation in the development of international transport corridors , simplification of procedures at border crossings, exchange of best practices, and training of personnel in the transport industry.
Particular attention will be paid to joint work on the digitalization of transport infrastructure , the implementation of intelligent traffic and logistics management systems, and the coordination of actions within the framework of international transport initiatives, including interaction with the EAEU and the CIS.
The Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan emphasized that the Roadmap for 2025–2030 will become a practical tool for implementing long-term strategic goals in the transport sector and will create the preconditions for further strengthening trade and economic relations between Tajikistan and Russia.
This agreement continues the path toward expanding bilateral cooperation outlined during the meetings between the two leaders. It aims to improve the efficiency of interaction between transport systems and supply chains, which is key to sustainable economic growth and the integration of regional markets.
