On February 26, a training seminar on combating human trafficking was held at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University in Dushanbe, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan reported.
The seminar was attended by investigators from the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Dushanbe and its subordinate districts, representatives of the State Committee for National Security, the Drug Control Agency, and experts from the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event was also attended by development partners from international organizations, including representatives of the International Organization for Migration, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the Embassy of Sweden.



The seminar was opened by the Chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission to Combat Human Trafficking, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Police Colonel General Alamshozoda Abdurakhmon Alamsho. During the event, participants discussed crime detection and criminal proceedings, as well as practical aspects of investigation.
The seminar was attended by academics and industry experts. The main goal of the event was to strengthen expertise in combating human trafficking, examine the differences between the crime of human trafficking and the organization of illegal migration, share experiences in forensic investigations of criminal cases related to human trafficking, provide assistance to victims of crimes and ensure their legal status, discuss the challenges of identifying and investigating crimes related to human trafficking, and ensure respect for the rights and freedoms of victims of human trafficking.
The event aims to enhance the professional competence of law enforcement officers and develop international cooperation in the fight against this phenomenon.
