In the first half of 2025, staff of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan held 972 meetings in ministries, departments, local executive bodies, and urban and rural jamoats to systematically combat corruption factors and actions, as well as to improve anti-corruption education and public awareness. Furthermore, 1,058 cases of administrative offenses related to corruption were identified and reviewed, as reported by Agency Director Sultonzoda Sulaimon Said at a press conference on the half-year results on August 8.
During the reporting period, 1,868 requests from individuals and legal entities were reviewed, and appropriate decisions were made.
Agency staff conducted 246 audits and investigations, revealing financial losses to the state totaling 624.1 million somoni. Thanks to the measures taken, 616 million somoni were recovered, representing 98.7% of the identified losses. Furthermore, through additional measures related to the collection of tax arrears, compensation for damages identified in previous years, and the accounting of excess property, an additional 21.9 million somoni were recovered in favor of the state, for a total of 637.9 million somoni.
Thanks to additional measures by the Agency's law enforcement agencies, including the imposition of administrative fines, collection of tax debts, and investigations, 23.7 million somoni were restored to the state budget.
In total, during the first half of 2025, the Agency recovered 661.6 million somoni, of which 267.9 million somoni were transferred directly to state budget accounts, 384 million somoni to state enterprises, organizations and institutions, and 9.7 million somoni to non-governmental organizations and citizens.
The Agency's law enforcement units have identified 1,245 corruption, economic, and other crimes related to the agency's purview, involving 710 individuals. Preliminary investigations have been completed in 571 criminal cases involving 528 individuals, which have been sent to court with approved indictments.
