On April 9, an extended meeting of the Futsal Committee of the Football Federation of Tajikistan was held in Dushanbe, during which the parameters of the new futsal season in the country were determined. This was reported by the Football Federation of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, Furkat Akhmedzhanov, the Chairman of the Futsal Committee, Abduzoir Ismoilov, the General Director of the Futsal League of Tajikistan, Bakhtovar Melikov, and other members of the committee.
During the discussion, the format for the Tajikistan Futsal Super League season was approved. The 2026 season will begin on May 6 and conclude in November. The championship is expected to be highly competitive.
Eight teams will participate in the new season. These include Dushanbe clubs Soro Kompaniya, Istiklol, Amonatbank, CSKA, and Somon, Khujand's Sipar, and newcomers Dushanbe and Istaravshan.
Super League matches will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the evening. This decision was made for the convenience of fans and broadcasters. An increase in live broadcasts on the Varzish and Futbol TV channels is expected, which is expected to increase interest in futsal and expand the championship's audience.
As in the previous season, no more than four foreign players are allowed on club rosters, and no more than three foreign players can be on the pitch at any one time.
The 2026 Tajikistan Futsal Super Cup match between the current national champion, Soro Kompaniya, and the National Cup winner, Sipar, will take place on June 28 at the Kasri Varzish Sports Complex in Khujand.
Furthermore, at the suggestion of Futsal Committee Chairman Abduzoir Ismoilov, a celebratory tournament for U20 youth teams with a prize fund is planned for this year. The competition will feature youth teams from Super League clubs. The tournament is aimed at developing young players and building a talent pool for professional teams.
Issues of infrastructure development were also raised during the meeting.
