On the sidelines of the latest meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization's Collective Security Council in Bishkek, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the press service of the Tajik leader reported.
At the meeting, issues related to multifaceted cooperation between the two countries were discussed.
It was noted with satisfaction that cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, based on strategic partnership and alliance, is developing steadily.
Much attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in the joint fight against modern global challenges and threats, such as terrorism, extremism, cross-border crime, including drug trafficking, and cybercrime.
The importance of developing trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as expanding ties between the regions of the two countries, was emphasized.
A separate topic of discussion was strengthening cooperation in the areas of education, culture, and other humanitarian areas.
A substantive exchange of views also took place on specific issues on the regional and international agenda.
