In Tajikistan, air pollution levels are expected to increase from November 29 to December 1 in southern cities and districts of the Khatlon Region, Districts of Republican Subordination, northern districts and cities of the Sughd Region, and the city of Dushanbe. This was reported by the Hydrometeorology Agency of the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the Hydrometeorological Center, deteriorating air quality will be caused by a dusty haze entering the country from the south, southwest, and west. Increased levels of suspended particulate matter (dust) will be recorded in the air, including particles up to 10 microns in diameter (PM-10) and up to 2.5 microns (PM-2.5).
Experts warn that such weather conditions may adversely affect health. Therefore, citizens are advised to avoid long walks, especially near busy roads, and limit their time outdoors if possible.
