On May 29, 2026, the twelfth meeting of the Council for Industrial Policy of the CIS Member States was held in Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan), the press service of the Organization's Executive Committee reported.
The meeting was attended by members of the Council and representatives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the CIS Executive Committee, scientific and educational organizations of the CIS member states.



The Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ersayin Kairgazievich Nagaspayev, addressed the meeting participants with a welcoming speech.
The First Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kurbonzoda Isodjon Yatim, reported on the results of the Republic of Tajikistan's chairmanship of the Council.
Ersayin Kairgazievich Nagaspayev, Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was unanimously elected Chairman of the Council for Industrial Policy of the CIS Member States for another term. Thanking his colleagues for their trust, he expressed his readiness to fully support the development of industrial cooperation within the Council.
The agenda of the Council meeting included a wide range of issues on the development of cooperation in various industrial sectors.
In order to implement in practice the law that came into force on February 13, 2026 Based on proposals from states, a draft set of measures for its implementation was prepared for the Agreement on Cooperation between Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Development of Heavy Engineering Industries, signed on June 5, 2025. Meeting participants approved the document and noted the need to expand cooperation between relevant companies, implement modern technologies and innovations, and develop and share new production technologies and competencies.
The Republic of Tajikistan presented a draft Agreement on Cooperation between Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Food Industry. This document will focus on promising areas of cooperation, including the development and implementation of equipment for food and processing industries, the creation of a network of scientific and educational centers to advance applied research and technology transfer in the food industry, the exchange of experience in implementing investment projects, cooperation in innovation for the production of products with desired properties, and the exchange of information on the implementation of digital solutions and robotic automation of production processes in the food industry.
In pursuance of the initiatives of the highest bodies of the CIS, the CIS Executive Committee, based on proposals from states, prepared a draft Set of Measures for the Implementation of the Agreement on Cooperation between the CIS Member States in the Development of Civil Shipbuilding and the Production of Marine Components, dated December 12, 2024. The draft document provides for the exchange of information on the list of priority products for the member states of the Agreement in order to develop a comprehensive approach to the manufacture and supply of marine equipment and components, the exchange of experience on measures of state support for civil shipbuilding and the production of marine component equipment, as well as the preparation of proposals for the development of cooperative chains of technological operations of manufacturers of civil shipbuilding products and marine component equipment for the purpose of joint production of high-tech products.
The Council members approved the draft Concept for Cooperation between the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Development of the Electronics Industry and the Action Plan for its Implementation.
Mikhail Evgenievich Myskin, Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee, presented information on the Council's activities in 2022–2025 and on the prospects for further cooperation between the CIS member states in industrial sectors.
Representatives of the base organizations interacting with the Council presented information on activities in 2025–2026 and plans for the upcoming period.
The approved draft documents will be submitted by the Council to the CIS Executive Committee for further consideration by the highest bodies of the CIS in accordance with the established procedure.
The next meeting of the Council is planned to be held in person in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2027.
