The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of Tajikistan organized a rescue operation for a group of tourists from Russia, one of whom was injured while hiking a mountain trail. This was reported by the press service of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic.
According to the agency, on July 18, 2026, at 4:15 PM, the Committee's Crisis Management Center received a report of an incident from Sergei Nasedkin, the coordinator of a tourist group. While a group of five Russian citizens was descending from the Turamis-1 Pass, one of the tourists— Igor Igorevich Bayer , born January 23, 2004—fell and sustained various injuries, including head and leg injuries.
According to the Emergency Situations Commission, the group is currently at the Moskvina Glade tourist camp, located at an altitude of 4,200–4,300 meters above sea level. The victim's condition is assessed as satisfactory and he is being monitored.
To ensure the safety of the tourists, including the injured man, the Committee coordinated with the group leader. The helicopter evacuation of the tourists from Moskvina Glade is scheduled for July 24, 2026 .
The Emergency Situations Committee emphasized that the situation is under constant monitoring. The agency promised to update the public as new information becomes available.
