The 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics has been awarded to Joel Mokyr (USA/Israel), Philippe Aghion (France), and Peter Howitt (Canada), RT reported, citing the Nobel Committee.
This year, the Nobel Prize in Memory of Alfred Nobel was divided into two parts. Joel Mokyr was awarded the prize "for identifying the prerequisites for sustainable economic growth through technological progress," while Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt received the prize "for their theory of sustainable growth through creative destruction."
The Nobel Committee noted that for the first time in the last two centuries, the world has seen sustained economic growth. The 2025 Nobel Prize laureates in economics have demonstrated how innovation and technological progress stimulate further economic development and contribute to improved living standards in various countries.
