An immunization campaign for healthcare workers against influenza A and B viruses has begun at Dushanbe City Health Center No. 13. The campaign aims to prevent the spread of seasonal infectious diseases, ensure sanitary and epidemiological safety, and maintain the productivity of healthcare personnel.
Representatives of the World Health Organization in Tajikistan, staff of the Republican Center for Immunoprophylaxis, and other healthcare professionals were the first to receive the influenza vaccine, according to the press service of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the agency, the campaign's main goal is to prevent seasonal influenza caused by viruses types A and B, as well as to maintain the ability of healthcare workers to provide timely medical care to the population.
Immunization is being conducted based on the "Safe Immunization" principle and involves experienced vaccinators. The necessary conditions have been created in all cities and districts of the country, and responsible individuals have been appointed to organize and implement the campaign. The campaign is being conducted in accordance with international best practices in safe immunization.
The liquid inactivated vaccine "GCFLU Quadrivalent Multi" is administered intramuscularly into the deltoid muscle of the left or right arm. The vaccine contains purified inactivated influenza virus antigen, buffers (sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium phosphoric acid, potassium dihydrogen phosphate), and the preservative thiomersal. The vaccine is available in multi-dose vials containing 10 doses of 5 ml each.
