The long-standing problem of providing residents and agricultural land in the village of Khuzhagaribi with drinking and industrial water has been resolved. During a working visit, Penjikent Mayor Abdukholik Kholiqzoda attended the launch of a more than six-kilometer-long water pipeline, according to the city's press service.
Construction of the water pipeline began last year with the support of the city's executive authorities, foreign entrepreneurs, and the participation of residents themselves. As part of the project, a vertical well was drilled on the bank of the Zarafshon River at a cost of approximately two million somoni. From there, water flows through a water intake station and a system of pipes to a storage reservoir, and then, with the installation of pumping equipment, it is delivered directly to the village.
The launch of the water pipeline will provide village residents with clean drinking water. Furthermore, the project will allow tens of hectares of irrigated land, which have been unused for many years, to be planted with crops, and allow for the creation of orchards and vineyards.
During the working visit, a new 15-meter-long and 8-meter-wide automobile bridge, built with the help of businessman Bakhtiyor Vohidov and his children, was also put into operation.
During a meeting with village residents, the completed project was praised as an important and significant initiative that contributed to the region's socioeconomic development, as well as a worthy gift for the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.
