Today, May 30, 2026, a new season of "Red Bus Tours" city tours opens in Dushanbe and will run until October. On opening day, residents and visitors to the capital will be able to take free sightseeing tours on double-decker buses. This was announced by the Tourism Development Department of the Dushanbe City Executive Authority.
The project, which is being implemented at the initiative of the city administration in collaboration with the travel companies King Tour and Somon Travel, aims to promote Dushanbe's tourism potential, increase the city's attractiveness for domestic and international travelers, and develop modern tourism infrastructure.
The excursion routes will allow participants to explore the capital's historical, cultural, and architectural landmarks. Tours will be guided in Tajik, Russian, and English. In addition to the sightseeing tours, cultural and entertainment programs are available.
For those wishing to take part in free excursions on the opening day, two meeting points have been designated: at the fountain complex of the Navruzgoh Park State Institution (19:00) and at the Sadriddin Aini State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre (19:00).
The organizers note that initially, excursion routes will be offered on weekends, but subsequently, based on demand from tourists and visitors to the capital, they are planned to be offered on a regular basis. The season's program also includes a Dushanbe-Gissar tourist route, which will operate weekly on Saturdays.
The Red Bus Tours project, launched in 2024, helps introduce visitors to Dushanbe's historical and cultural heritage and promote the city's tourism brand internationally.
