In Dushanbe, Tajikistan's Energy Minister Daler Juma met with Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan Keiko Furuta to discuss developing an energy partnership between the two countries.
The parties discussed ongoing cooperation in the fields of energy and water resources management, as well as measures to strengthen cooperation within international organizations, including the Energy Charter.
The Minister of Energy and the Japanese Ambassador noted the importance of joint initiatives to improve energy security and sustainable development in Tajikistan's energy sector. During the meeting, they emphasized that the exchange of experience and technological support from Japan contribute to the modernization of infrastructure and the implementation of advanced technologies in the electric power and hydropower sectors.
It was noted that the next Energy Charter Conference is scheduled for 2025 in Dushanbe, which creates additional opportunities for developing international cooperation and strengthening dialogue on energy security and sustainable development.
The parties expressed their intention to continue active cooperation and consider new projects in the field of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and rational use of water resources, which are in line with Tajikistan's strategic priorities in the energy sector.
