As part of the second Dushanbe International Film Festival "Toji Somon," a meeting of the Board of Directors of film studios from the CIS and neighboring countries was held in Dushanbe. At the meeting, the Tajikfilm State Institution signed a Memorandum of Understanding with national film studios from six countries.
According to Tajikfilm, the document was signed with the St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studio Lendoc (Russia), the National Film Studio Belarusfilm (Belarus), the State Budgetary Institution of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan Tatarkino (Russia), the Uzbekfilm Film Concern (Uzbekistan), and the National Film Studio Kyrgyzfilm named after T. Okeyev (Kyrgyzstan).
The meeting noted that the signing of the Memorandum will be a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation in cinema, sharing experiences, and developing cultural ties. The parties intend to implement joint projects aimed at promoting national cinematography internationally.
During the meeting, film studio executives discussed expanding cooperation in film production, distribution, and screening, educational exchange, digitalization of film production, and the creation of a unified media archive for CIS member states.
The parties also agreed to establish a Coordinating Council, which will plan joint projects in film production and distribution, implement training programs, organize specialist exchanges, and conduct mutual film screenings in partner countries.
As a reminder, the meeting of the Board of Directors of Film Studios of the CIS Member States and neighboring countries brought together the heads of national film studios, state film centers, and creative unions of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Georgia, Afghanistan, and Tatarstan.
