In the capital of Tajikistan, officers from the Department for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Dushanbe uncovered the illegal sale of potent drugs. This was reported by the press service of the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs.
According to the information, as a result of preventive measures, the sale of prohibited medications was discovered at the BONU LLC pharmacy located on Sadriddin Aini Street. Mehrubon Hasanzoda, a 33-year-old Dushanbe resident who worked at the pharmacy, was implicated in the illegal activity.
According to law enforcement, the man was selling the potent drug Pregabalin, also known by the trade name Lyrica. During the investigation, 141 units of this drug, whose circulation is restricted by Tajik law, were seized and confiscated.
It is noted that Hasanzoda carried out illegal trade in medicines for personal financial gain, ignoring legal requirements and established sanitary and pharmaceutical standards.
An administrative protocol was filed against the violator under Article 128 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Tajikistan ("Violation of the rules for the production, storage, accounting, sale, and transportation of medicines and medical devices"). The court imposed an administrative fine of 50 calculated units, or 3,750 somoni.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs' press service emphasized that such inspections are conducted regularly to prevent and combat the illegal sale of potent and psychotropic drugs. Law enforcement agencies urged pharmacy owners to strictly adhere to established legal requirements and avoid violations that could harm public health.
