The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a technical assistance grant of US$500,000 to support the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in preparing for the modernization and digitalization of the state social insurance and pension system, the ADB press service reported.
The purpose of the provided grant is to develop a feasibility study for the upcoming investment project, the implementation of which will strengthen the institutional base of the social insurance system, introduce a national automated information system, and increase the operational potential of the Agency for Social Insurance and Pensions (ASIP) of the country.
According to ADB, the future investment project is included in the tentative list of planned programs for 2026. It is expected that technical assistance will also be aimed at a comprehensive assessment of the legal, financial and administrative aspects of the current system, followed by the development of recommendations for reforming management mechanisms, strategic planning and investment policy in this area.
The project will pay special attention to the digitalization of processes and services provided by the Social Insurance and Pensions Agency. The development of a feasibility study for digital solutions will improve the efficiency of the agency and the quality of services provided to the population.
Established in 1966, the Asian Development Bank is the leading multilateral financial institution promoting sustainable, inclusive, and green growth in Asia and the Pacific. ADB is currently owned by 69 members, including 50 from the region.
