An international business forum entitled "Sughd – the historical crossroads of the Great Silk Road" was held in the city of Khujand in the Sughd region, organized as part of the expedition "Journey to the Heart of Eurasia-2025". This was reported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event brought together representatives of the business community, investors, international experts and expedition participants from various countries around the world. The main goal of the forum was to establish direct dialogue between local businessmen and foreign investors, present the investment climate of the Sughd region and discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation, including in the field of tourism.
Deputy Chairman of the Sughd Region Anvar Yakubi addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing that the region had historically been a key hub of the Great Silk Road. He noted that even in modern conditions, Sughd remains a strategically important region with attractive conditions for the development of agriculture, industry, logistics and tourism.
"Sughd region has all the prerequisites for becoming one of the centers of international trade and investment. Favorable geographical location, developed infrastructure, human capital and natural resources create broad opportunities for investors," noted Anvar Yakubi.
Chairman of the Russian-Tajik Business Council, General Director of OJSC NaftGaz Islom Nazaraliev, who is heading the tourist expedition, in his speech emphasized the importance of cultural and business exchange between the countries. He noted that the expedition "Journey to the Heart of Eurasia-2025" is aimed at popularizing cultural heritage, strengthening interregional cooperation and developing tourism.
"We are not just traveling along the ancient Silk Road, we are restoring connections lost over the centuries. This expedition is a symbol of unity, friendship and a common desire for prosperity," Nazaraliev said.
Following the forum, participants expressed interest in expanding contacts and emphasized the need for further steps to create a favorable business environment in the region.
