Dushanbe's police conducted a raid to close down 24 retail outlets operating in unauthorized locations and violating sanitary and hygienic regulations, according to the city police department's press service.
The inspection was carried out in the area adjacent to the Safarion market, located on N. Khuvaydulloev Street.
"Some individuals were selling food products on sidewalks and at the market entrance, ignoring sanitary requirements and city improvement regulations. Illegal trade can pose a threat to public health and hinder the free movement of pedestrians," the agency noted.

During the raid, police officers discovered that several individuals, in violation of established public amenities and sanitary regulations, had set up businesses on the sidewalks and at the entrance to the market. These actions not only violated sanitary requirements but also obstructed the free movement of city residents.
As a result of the inspection, 24 retail outlets operating in unauthorized locations were liquidated.
The agency emphasized that citizens are strongly advised to sell food products only in designated areas, strictly adhering to sanitary standards and legal requirements, and demonstrating responsibility for public health.
