A meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of India Subrahmanyan Jaishankar took place in the capital of India. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to Tajik-Indian relations and confirmed their mutual interest in further developing strategic partnership. Particular attention was paid to expanding political dialogue, deepening trade and economic cooperation, as well as strengthening ties in the fields of culture, education and humanitarian exchange.
The interlocutors noted the positive dynamics of cooperation and emphasized the importance of increasing mutual investments, promoting joint projects, including initiatives in the fields of energy, transport and information technology. The intention to intensify interparliamentary and business contacts was also confirmed.
A separate block of negotiations was devoted to issues of the international and regional agenda. The ministers exchanged views on the current situation in Central and South Asia, expressing their readiness for further interaction within the framework of such international and regional structures as the UN, SCO and others.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and constructive dialogue between Tajikistan and India.
