The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in the ceremonial events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The ceremonies were held on May 9 on Red Square in Moscow with the participation of heads of state and government from 29 countries.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived at the Kremlin Palace, where he was warmly and respectfully greeted by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. After the welcoming ceremony, the high-ranking guests took part in a military parade, which became the central event of the Victory anniversary celebration.
The military parade on Red Square included the march of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and friendly states. The Republic of Tajikistan was represented by a paratrooper company of its armed forces, which marched in memory of the heroism of the Tajiks on the fronts of World War II.

The participation of Tajik servicemen symbolized the recognition of the contribution of more than 300 thousand natives of Tajikistan who fought in the ranks of the Soviet Army. Among them were 55 people awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. Their feat, as well as the selfless work of citizens in the rear, became part of the overall Victory over fascism.
After the parade, the heads of state and government took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden. President Emomali Rahmon honored the memory of the fallen heroes who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom and peace.
The events ended with a symbolic joint photograph of the leaders of the states participating in the celebration.
The presence of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan at the celebrations was a confirmation of the unwavering commitment of the people of Tajikistan to historical memory, international solidarity and the strengthening of friendly ties between peoples.
