The CSTO Secretary General summarized the Organization's activities and reported on the results of the Collective Security Council meeting held on November 27, 2025, the Organization's press service reported.
Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov held a press conference for the media in Bishkek. The Secretary General summarized the results of the Collective Security Council (CSC) meeting attended by the heads of state and presented a detailed report on the Organization's activities over the past three years.
Imangali Tasmagambetov praised Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the CSTO, noting its responsible and constructive approach. He noted that all the priorities outlined by President Sadyr Japarov a year ago have been successfully implemented.
The key outcome of the summit was the reaffirmation by the leaders of member states of their commitment to the principles and goals of the CSTO, as well as the adoption of a package of documents aimed at strengthening collective security. The CSC meeting focused on discussing the military-political situation in the CSTO's area of responsibility and growing hybrid threats.
As part of the review of the three-year activities of the CSTO, the Secretary General highlighted a number of significant achievements:
Strengthening of collective forces: the number of personnel increased by 1.8 times, reaching 30 thousand people; the aviation group was reinforced.
Practical results of the operations: during the anti-drug operation "Channel" in 2025, more than 8 tons of drugs were seized, and Operation "Illegal" contributed to the prevention of over 130,000 violations of immigration legislation in 2024.
Development of military cooperation: large-scale exercises (“Interaction,” “Indestructible Brotherhood,” etc.) are regularly held, integrating the latest combat experience.
Cybersecurity: The first international conference and cyber exercises of the CSTO were held, strengthening coordination to counter cyber threats.
International cooperation: a roadmap for developing cooperation with the SCO and the CIS was signed.
The Secretary-General also commented on interaction with Armenia. He reaffirmed that the CSTO respects Yerevan's sovereign right to determine the format of its participation in the Organization.
In conclusion, the Secretary-General thanked the journalists for their work, noting that objective coverage of the CSTO's activities makes a significant contribution to public awareness and the formation of a constructive agenda.
