In the village of Sugdiyon, Almosiy rural community in the city of Hisor, a bridge opening ceremony was held to coincide with the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan's state independence, President's Day, and the 16th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tajikistan. This was reported by the city administration press service.
At the bridge opening ceremony, the head of the city of Gissar, member of the National Chamber of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Nosirzoda Jabbor, congratulated community activists and residents on President's Day and the anniversary of the historic 16th session of the Supreme Council.
Construction of the bridge began in July of this year as part of the city's executive government's plan of events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of independence, with the support of entrepreneurs and the local population. The total cost of construction exceeded 4 million somoni.
The previously existing bridge, located higher up this section, was often washed away by floods and created significant difficulties for residents and visitors to the area.
On behalf of the city's leadership and executive bodies, the mayor expressed gratitude to the staff of the Almosi rural community, the mahalla chairmen, and community residents for their participation in the construction of the facility. He called their initiative an example for the younger generation and presented "Letters of Appreciation" to those who made significant contributions to the project.
At the end of the event, the mayor emphasized that the Almosi villagers' contributions to the construction of a school, additional classrooms, healthcare facilities, road repairs and reconstruction, and other construction and improvement projects are valuable and contribute to the village's development. The inclusion of the Almosi Valley on the List of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems, as well as its achievements in breeding Tajik sheep and cultivating varietal pink grapes, are a source of pride not only for local residents but for the entire country.
