The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, arrived in the Vose district of Khatlon region on a working visit to inspect the living conditions of the residents, the progress of improvement and construction work, as well as to open several important facilities and hold meetings with residents, the press service of the head of state reported.
At the temporary airport in the region, the Head of State was warmly greeted by the Chairman of the Khatlon region, Davlatali Said, and other officials.
The working visit began with the opening of the National Flag and Coat of Arms Square, built on a 3.3-hectare site. The square, symbolizing the country's pride and sovereignty, was ceremoniously opened by the Leader of the Nation.
The construction of state shrines in the region is a manifestation of the pride and unity of residents, aimed at strengthening a sense of patriotism, continuing good traditions, and respect for national values.
The square, prepared for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, is equipped with everything necessary for recreation and strolling for residents and visitors to the district. The flagpole and base are 52 meters high, the flag is 7 meters long and 14 meters wide. The 32,000-square-meter area is landscaped with flowers, approximately 600 shade-forming and ornamental trees, nearly 5,000 square meters of paved alleys, and benches for relaxation.
The 22-meter-tall national emblem stands on a marble base. The square, located in the village of Khulbuk, will become a picturesque place for strolls, recreation, and patriotic and cultural events featuring youth and teenagers.
On the same day, President Emomali Rahmon opened the 21,000-seat Central Stadium of the Vose District. The facility was built by the Directorate for the Construction of Government Facilities of the Executive Office of the President to host training sessions and matches for the district's football teams, competitions, promote sports, and engage young people in physical education.
Construction of the stadium began in 2017 and was completed at a total cost of approximately 69 million somoni. The football field is 105 by 68 meters long and wide, and is covered with natural grass, making it suitable for international training and matches. A rubber-surfaced running track surrounds the field for track and field.
During his tour of the stadium, the President met with the coaching staff and players of the Khulbuk football team, which represents the district in the Tajikistan Premier League Championship, and encouraged them to develop their athletic skills and represent the country with dignity.
The stadium has four stands with a capacity of 21,000 spectators. The three-story building includes offices, locker rooms, showers, gyms with modern equipment, VIP seating, a 40-seat conference hall, and a veranda. Four modern masts have been installed to illuminate the field, allowing for nighttime competitions.
The stadium grounds also include two sports grounds for mini-football, volleyball, and basketball, a parking lot, an electrical substation, a water supply well, and other auxiliary facilities.
The commissioning of such modern facilities promotes the development of sports and recreational activities among the population. Construction of another 130 sports facilities continues in Khatlon Region as part of the State Football Development Program for 2022–2026, laying the foundation for Tajikistan's global football promotion initiative.
