On the night of October 12, Russian armed forces launched strikes against Ukraine's energy infrastructure using 118 drones and Kh-31 missiles, the Ukrainian Air Force reported. Ukrainian air defense units shot down 103 drones, with missile and 15 attack drone hits recorded at ten locations.
In the Odesa region, drones struck an energy infrastructure facility, a gas supply facility, and a district administration building. One person was injured: a woman born in 1991 sustained injuries of varying severity and was taken to the hospital, according to regional administration head Oleh Kiper.
In the city of Belgorod-Dnistrovsky in the Odessa region, critical infrastructure was also damaged, leading to temporary power and water outages.
In the unoccupied part of the Donetsk region, shelling has left power out in various settlements. Vadim Filashkin, head of the regional military administration, reported that specialists have already begun repair work, but the final extent of the damage and the restoration timeline have yet to be determined.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine confirmed damage to energy facilities and gas transportation infrastructure in the Donetsk, Odessa, and Chernihiv regions.
Additionally, local authorities reported six deaths as a result of attacks the previous day: four in the Donetsk region and two in the Kherson region. In the Donetsk region, two people were killed in Kostiantynivka, one each in Staroraiske and Oleksandrivka. In the Kherson region, in addition to the two deaths, five more were injured. The shelling also damaged 13 multi-story buildings and four private homes, a gas station, stores, warehouses, and private cars, according to the Kherson regional military administration.
