On October 20, a bilateral meeting between the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khabibullo Vohidzoda, and the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Nigmatilla Yuldoshev, took place in Dushanbe as part of the 35th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, issues of strengthening coordination between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries in the fight against cross-border and organized crime, including terrorism, drug trafficking, and cybercrime, were discussed.
The parties emphasized that Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are fraternal, friendly, and neighboring states, and noted the need to take additional measures to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between prosecutorial authorities.
It was noted that the Republic of Uzbekistan is ready to provide assistance in the professional retraining and advanced training of law enforcement officers in Tajikistan, particularly in the area of combating cybercrime.
The bilateral consultations were held in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, with the parties expressing confidence that expanded cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of the two countries will contribute to the effective fight against crime and enhance security and stability in the region.
