On October 20, a bilateral meeting between the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan, Khabibullo Vohidzoda, and the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Alexander Gutsan, took place in Dushanbe on the sidelines of the 35th meeting of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Independent States. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office of Tajikistan.
During the meeting, current issues of bilateral cooperation and regional security were discussed. The focus was on the fight against terrorism and extremism, joint efforts to combat transnational organized crime, and the development of effective cybersecurity measures.
In addition, as part of strengthening bilateral relations, the parties discussed issues of protecting the rights and interests of migrant workers and their family members.
The Prosecutors General emphasized the high level of cooperation and common approaches to ensuring the rule of law, noting the strategic importance of further interaction in these areas.
During the meeting, two key interdepartmental agreements were signed: an Agreement on Cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of Tajikistan and Russia, and an Agreement on Cooperation between Military Prosecutor's Offices.
The documents are aimed at strengthening cooperation in the areas of oversight, law enforcement, and coordination of military prosecutors' offices, which will improve the effectiveness of the fight against crime and strengthen law and order in the region.
