The National Medical Center of Tajikistan "Shifobakhsh" is hosting an exchange of experience between Tajik and Swiss specialists in the implementation of new diagnostic and treatment methods, according to the press service of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As part of the cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Swiss Confederation, a group of Swiss specialists, including anesthesiologists, surgeons, neurosurgeons, nephrologists, urologists, nurses, and paramedics, is working with Tajik doctors. The purpose of the visit is to exchange professional experience and conduct joint examinations and treatments for various categories of patients.
Particular attention is paid to the neonatal and infant surgery department, where a number of complex surgeries were performed in collaboration with Swiss colleagues. Swiss specialists also participated in surgical interventions in the neurosurgery, urology, and pediatrics departments.
To enhance the knowledge, skills, and practical expertise of Tajik doctors, Swiss specialists donated modern medical equipment and devices to the Shifobakhsh Center.
Shohin Rahimonov, head of the neonatal and infant surgery department at the Shifobakhsh Center and assistant professor in the pediatric surgery department at the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, noted that working with Swiss specialists allows for the most complex surgical interventions on newborns, significantly enhancing the knowledge and experience of young Russian doctors.
According to him, together with his Swiss colleagues, they successfully performed surgeries for biliary atresia, small intestinal atresia, esophageal atresia, and other complex pathologies. All patients remain stable.
Shohin Rahimov emphasized that such operations are now not only performed at the Shifobakhsh center in Dushanbe, but are also used to train pediatric surgeons from other regions of the country, who will be able to implement these methods in practice in various cities and districts of Tajikistan.
In turn, specialists from the Swiss Confederation expressed satisfaction with the center's operating conditions, the level of training and professionalism of Tajik doctors, and highly praised their work.
