On the night of November 3, at 1:29 a.m. local time, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan. The epicenter was located 43 kilometers from the city, and the earthquake's depth was approximately 35 kilometers.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the event was registered and classified as strong military intensity.
Light tremors were reported in neighboring Tajikistan. According to preliminary information, no damage or casualties have been reported.
Civil defense services are monitoring the situation and recommending that the population remain calm and, in the event of aftershocks, remain in safe areas away from windows and external walls.
