The fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF-2026) has opened in the capital of Uzbekistan. It is already being called the main economic event of the year and one of the largest investment platforms in the history of Central Asia.
On June 16, representatives of governments, international financial institutions, investment funds, major global corporations, and business communities from around the world gathered in Tashkent. The forum, held under the motto "Investment Sustainability: New Frontiers, New Partnerships," is dedicated to strengthening investment sustainability in the context of global economic change.
According to the organizers, 3,423 foreign delegates from 100 countries are participating in the event. The total number of participants exceeded 8,316, setting an all-time record for the forum.
TIIF 2026 is distinguished by its unprecedented scale. The combined assets of companies and financial institutions represented at the forum amount to $42 trillion, equivalent to nearly 38 percent of the global gross domestic product. Experts estimate that this makes the forum one of the largest investment platforms not only in Central Asia but also in the entire Eurasian region.
Over the years, the Tashkent International Investment Forum has become a prestigious platform for discussing key global economic issues. This year, participants will focus on investment security, the development of international transport and logistics corridors, green finance, the digital economy, and international financial markets.
The forum's program also includes discussions on geology and the development of critical raw materials, the development of renewable energy, the implementation of artificial intelligence, industrial cooperation, and the modernization of transport and logistics infrastructure.
Special attention will be given to new investment agreements involving the largest sovereign wealth funds from the Gulf, Europe, and Asia. These agreements are expected to be among the key outcomes of the forum.
TIIF 2026 is attended by executives and representatives of leading global financial and investment organizations, including BlackRock, JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, Visa, Franklin Templeton, Standard Chartered, Rothschild & Co and the London Stock Exchange Group.
Participants also include major international companies from the energy, industrial and technology sectors, such as Meta, BP, Masdar, ACWA Power, Airbus, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, DP World and other transnational corporations.
Over the course of three days, Tashkent will become a platform for negotiations, signing agreements, and discussing prospects for the further development of international investment cooperation. Experts believe the forum's popularity is directly linked to Uzbekistan's growing investment attractiveness and its growing role in the regional and global economy.
The forum is the focus of the international media community. A total of 209 foreign journalists from 41 countries have been accredited to cover it. Leading global media organizations such as Bloomberg, Reuters, BBC News, Euronews, Nikkei, CGTN, and TRT are reporting live from Tashkent.
Experts expect that investment agreements and major deals concluded within the framework of TIIF-2026 will become an important factor in Uzbekistan's further economic development and strengthening its position as one of the region's leading investment centers.
