In Dushanbe, law enforcement officers uncovered an underground workshop producing counterfeit medications. This was reported by the Dushanbe Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, counterfeit syrups under well-known brands, including medications intended for children, were manufactured in unsanitary conditions. The products discovered included syrups under the brands "Nurofen," "Paracetamol," "Lazolvan," "Theraflu," and other names.
Otabek Dadachonov, a 42-year-old Dushanbe resident previously convicted of several economic crimes, was arrested on suspicion of organizing illegal production. His alleged accomplices, who, according to investigators, were involved in packaging and distributing counterfeit products, were also detained.

During the investigation, it was established that the group operated through registered companies without having the necessary license to conduct pharmaceutical activities.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized approximately 35,900 bottles of syrups, more than 405,000 packages and labels, over 600 kilograms of raw materials, as well as equipment used to produce the drugs.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that the distribution of such counterfeit drugs could pose a serious threat to the lives and health of people, especially children.
A criminal case has been opened on this incident under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The investigation is ongoing.
