Tajikistan and Mongolia intend to intensify cooperation in rail, road, and air transport. This was discussed at a meeting between Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan Shoista Saidmurodzoda and Minister of Roads and Transport of Mongolia Borkhuugiin Delgersaikhan, which took place on June 9, 2026, in Ulaanbaatar.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, Shoista Saidmurodzoda is in the capital of Mongolia to participate in the 23rd meeting of the CAREC Transport Sector Coordinating Committee.
During the talks, the parties confirmed their commitment to active cooperation in rail transport between the two countries. Participants also exchanged views on the prospects for advancing cooperation in civil aviation, rail, and road transport to a new level.
Particular attention was paid to the formation of new transport flows that could connect countries of the Eurasian region and facilitate the further development of transport and logistics links.
During the meeting, it was noted that in recent years, Mongolia has been actively expanding political and economic relations with Central Asian countries, including in the area of transport and logistics cooperation.
The parties also announced that B. Artur, Head of the Mongolian Railway Authority, will attend the 53rd meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways (OSJD). This meeting took place on June 11–12 in Dushanbe.
Furthermore, during the talks, it was announced that Tajikistan and Mongolia intend to expand cooperation in air and road transport. The parties plan to sign a bilateral Agreement on International Road Transport in the near future.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan, the meeting took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
