Officers from the Firdavsi District Department of Internal Affairs No. 1 in Dushanbe, while investigating a criminal complaint, determined that the information provided was false and that the alleged crime had been fabricated by the complainant. This was reported by the Dushanbe Department of Internal Affairs.
According to law enforcement agencies, 26-year-old Muslikhiddin Goibov, a resident of the capital, is suspected of knowingly making a false report of a crime.
On June 12 of this year, a man filed a complaint with the Firdavsi District Department of Internal Affairs No. 1, reporting that he had been allegedly attacked by unknown individuals while on Sokhili Street in Dushanbe. He claimed the assailants beat him and stole 8,960 somoni.
However, during the initial investigation, police officers determined that no assault or theft had actually occurred. The investigation revealed that Muslikhiddin Goibov had lost the said amount gambling.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in order to conceal this fact from his parents and mislead law enforcement agencies, the man deliberately filed a false report of a crime.
The necessary materials have been collected regarding Muslihiddin Goibov. The preliminary investigation is ongoing under Article 346 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Law enforcement agencies reminded citizens that when contacting the police and filing reports, they must provide only accurate information and refrain from knowingly providing false information.
