The sixth meeting of the Steering Committee of the "Support to Sustainable Energy in Tajikistan" program was held in Dushanbe. The event was attended by the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, representatives of ministries and agencies, and the Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan.
The program is being implemented by the NTU International consortium in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, with support from the European Union. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.


In his opening remarks, Daler Juma emphasized the importance of continuing reforms in the country's energy sector. Isabel Uris Hernandez, Head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Tajikistan, and Nikolai Chavov, a representative of the NTU consortium, also spoke at the meeting.
Project experts presented a progress report on the program, outlining key achievements since its launch and the results of the reporting period. Specifically, they presented the results of their work in the areas of market pricing, sector management support, regulatory framework development (including the draft Energy Code of the Republic of Tajikistan), digitalization, and the promotion of renewable energy.


During the meeting, priority areas of work were identified until the project's completion. These include the approval of the Energy Code, the development of a national energy market structure, improved energy efficiency, digitalization of the industry, financial recovery of the sector, and strengthening the capacity of energy companies and the regulatory authority.
Following the discussion, the meeting participants exchanged views on key issues of energy sector reform and identified further steps for project implementation.
