The President of Tajikistan was awarded the title of Honorary Professor at Peking University. Just a few hours ago, Emomali Rahmon visited the university, where he was recognized for his active support for the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries, the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, and the deepening of bilateral cooperation in areas such as infrastructure, energy, education, and culture. Rahmon addressed students and faculty and thanked Peking University for the honor.
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon: "Currently, 10 higher education institutions in Tajikistan have already joined the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's university network, and 13 universities have already launched programs in Chinese language. Furthermore, during this visit, the two countries' government departments will sign an agreement to establish a new Confucius Institute at Danghara State University."
Saodat Sharifzoda, a student from Tajikistan, said: "The president's speech left the deepest impression on me—it motivated us to study even harder."
Tajik student Badriddin Rustamov: "The fact that the president was awarded the title of honorary professor of our university makes me extremely proud and happy."
Peking University doctoral student Liu Qi: "President Emomali Rahmon's visit to Peking University is a strong signal of friendship toward China. I believe this signal will definitely translate into concrete youth exchange projects between China and Tajikistan."
