Tajikistan's Sughd Region will host the 11th International Cultural and Educational Forum "Children of the Commonwealth" for the first time from June 15 to 24, 2026. The event will be held at the Shokhin children's camp in the city of Guliston, according to the CIS press service.
Delegations of schoolchildren from nine CIS countries—Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan—will participate in the forum.
The forum is organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. Holding the event in Tajikistan was made possible by the invitation of Rustami Emomali, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The forum's ten-day program includes over thirty different events. Each day, participants will learn about the culture and traditions of the Commonwealth states. Other events include an intellectual Olympiad, meetings with sports champions, master classes, a tourist rally, a physical education and sports marathon, and friendly tournaments.
A special feature of the program will be a parliamentary day in Dushanbe. Participants will be given a tour of the capital, including a visit to the Istiklol architectural complex, the National Museum of Tajikistan, and the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the organizers, the forum's main goal is to create a platform for informal communication between schoolchildren, develop intercultural dialogue, and strengthen friendly ties between representatives of the younger generation of the Commonwealth countries.
The idea for the forum came from the Zhogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan. Since 2013, the event has been held on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. The project's geographic scope has since expanded, with Russia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus hosting the forum.
The project is being implemented with the support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
