Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Assembly) of the Majlisi Oli (Parliament) of Tajikistan approved an investment agreement to create a joint industrial park in Dushanbe with Russian partners. This was reported by the press service of the lower house of parliament.
The agreement was concluded between the Government of Tajikistan, the State Unitary Enterprise Machine-Building Plant, the Russian company International Project Management, and the Government of Bashkortostan.
As noted, the intergovernmental agreement between Tajikistan and Russia on the creation of an industrial park in Dushanbe was signed in March 2025 during Tajik President Emomali Rahmon's official visit to Moscow. Later, in October of that year, the parties signed an investment agreement for the project's implementation.
The industrial park is planned to be located on the site of the former Tajiktekstilmash machine-building plant in Dushanbe.
Previously, Tajikistan's Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Sherali Kabir, reported that the initial area of the facility would be over 21,000 square meters. The park will house three production facilities from the former plant, with plans to expand the project's footprint in the future.
According to the minister, the first residents of the industrial park will be local companies manufacturing medical equipment. The products will be supplied to Tajikistan's domestic market and exported to countries in the region and Russia.
Later, Russia's trade representative in Tajikistan, Alexander Rybas, announced that several large Russian companies intend to become residents of the joint industrial park and localize production in the republic. He also noted that the final list of project participants is still being compiled.
In May, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoriev also announced that the majority of projects within the future technology park would be operated by companies from Bashkortostan.
