The Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification, and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan (Tajikstandart) has urged drivers and car owners to request certificates of conformity from sellers when purchasing antifreeze.
The agency noted that with the onset of winter, drivers and car owners are eager to ensure their vehicles are properly supplied with antifreeze, which is why demand for coolant on the domestic market is increasing significantly.
In this regard, the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification, and Trade Inspection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan warns that some sellers, taking advantage of the seasonal increase in demand, are offering customers low-quality antifreeze.
"Despite the fact that agency employees have repeatedly seized large quantities of substandard antifreeze at retail outlets and markets, some sellers are increasingly resorting to such illegal practices in an effort to make easy money. At the same time, there are sellers who are indifferent to the quality and type of goods upon acceptance, resulting in financial losses for the buyer," the agency reported.
According to the source, using non-standard antifreeze in cold weather can cause serious damage to your vehicle. Therefore, buyers are advised to follow expert advice, protect their consumer rights, and request product conformity certificates from sellers to avoid problems during vehicle operation.
"When purchasing antifreeze, pay attention to its quality and avoid purchasing questionable products. If your consumer rights are violated, contact the Agency for Standardization, Metrology, Certification, and Trade Inspection of the Republic of Tajikistan," the agency emphasized.
