A reception dedicated to the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was held in the capital of Tajikistan today, September 28. The event was attended by officials, representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic corps, and cultural figures from Tajikistan.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Tajikistan Guo Zhijun recalled that the proclamation of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949, was a turning point in the country's history and marked the beginning of a new era for the Chinese people. "Since its founding, China has evolved from one of the poorest and most impoverished countries to a powerful, prosperous nation with a rapidly developing economy and significant international influence," the ambassador said.
Guo Zhijun noted the significant achievements of the PRC in recent decades and emphasized that today China is among the leading economic and political centers of the world.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the government and people of Tajikistan for their contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and developing partnership between the countries.
"This year, we celebrate not only the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, but also the numerous achievements China has made along the path to modernization, including improving the quality of life and strengthening its position on the international stage. We are proud that our relations with Tajikistan continue to develop and deepen," said Guo Zhijun.
In his speech, the ambassador emphasized that China remains one of Tajikistan's key partners in economics, trade, culture, and science. He particularly noted the intensification of bilateral cooperation in recent years as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, which, he said, opens up new opportunities for mutually beneficial economic and infrastructural cooperation.
The diplomat also noted China's material and expert support for social and economic projects in Tajikistan, including in infrastructure, energy, and agriculture. Guo Zhijun expressed confidence that in the coming decades, bilateral relations will develop based on mutual respect, trust, and mutual benefit.
In conclusion, the Ambassador thanked the Government of Tajikistan for its consistent support of China in international initiatives and called for further deepening cooperation in all priority areas.
The reception featured an exhibition showcasing China's cultural and historical heritage, national symbols, and key milestones in the history of the People's Republic of China. The exhibits and accompanying program allowed participants to gain a closer understanding of both traditional Chinese culture and the country's modern achievements.
Participants at the event noted the importance of strengthening humanitarian and cultural ties as one of the most important aspects of bilateral partnership and spoke in favor of expanding exchanges in education, science, and the arts.
