Tajikistan strongly condemns the missile strikes on Doha, the capital of Qatar, on September 9, and considers them an act of aggression against the territorial integrity of that state. This was stated in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.
"These actions are a clear violation of international law and the fundamental provisions of the UN Charter, which exacerbates the already difficult situation in the Middle East region," the document notes.
The department emphasized that Tajikistan consistently advocates the use of diplomatic channels and negotiations as effective tools for the peaceful resolution of disputes and conflicts.
According to international agencies, Israel launched airstrikes on Doha on September 9 as part of Operation Summit of Fire. Fifteen fighter jets participated in the attack, dropping more than ten bombs on sites where negotiations with Hamas were reportedly taking place.
The operation was prompted by events the previous day at the entrance to Jerusalem, where two armed militants killed six people. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan also previously condemned the strikes on Doha.
