On August 30, Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda visited the Shaartus district of Khatlon region, where he inspected the residents' living conditions and the progress of construction and development work dedicated to the republic's independence celebrations. This was reported by the regional governor's press service.
The opening of a cotton ginning plant of the limited liability company named after Eshmirzo Normatov took place in the village of Sugdiyon, Tojdoron rural jamoat, with the participation of the head of government.
The construction cost of the facility was 2.5 million somoni. The plant's capacity allows for processing up to 3,000 tons of cotton per year. It is planned to eventually house a cotton spinning mill, creating 30 jobs.
Rasulzoda also toured the construction of a poultry farm in the village of Oboddekh in the Obshoron rural jamoat. Local entrepreneur Yusuf Abduganizoda is overseeing the project. The facility is designed to house 15,000 meat-producing chickens. Currently, the facility is 80% complete.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also visited fields in the village of Sugdiyon, where he inspected the cotton harvest and corn cultivation. The farm covers a total area of 9 hectares, of which 5.8 hectares are devoted to cotton, 1 hectare to grain corn, 0.1 hectare to potatoes, and 2.1 hectares to other crops.
Construction of a 120-child preschool is underway in the village of Gulzor in the Shaartus district. The project is being built with the support of local residents, and the total budget is 2.4 million somoni.
According to district administration representatives, all of these projects are aimed at developing rural areas, improving social infrastructure, and creating new jobs.
